There are Rosés and then there are Rosés. Many seem to follow the middle of the pack and really remind you of so many others. Now and then you find a truly special Rosé, and we have reveiwed many here. But there are other types of Rosé out there, and one which provides a different flavor profile is reviewed below. It is not the most complex wine in the world, but it is flat out delicious.
Wine: 2024 San Lorenzo Vini Sirio Cerasuolo
Winery Location: Abruzzo, Italy
Tasted By: Neil & Cheri Date: May 2025
Tasting Notes: A Cerasuolo is made from a light pressing of Montepulciano grapes, with little skin contact following. In this case the wine only saw four hours of contact prior to being racked off. You get a cherry red color, bright and cheery. On the nose the wine is all fruit, primarily cherry. It is refreshing and clean throughout. This one makes a perfect summer sipper for those hot days and lazy afternoons on the deck.
Price Point – $15
Would We Buy It? – Yes, this is a perfect picnic wine, casual summer sipper or party favorite. Beautiful cherry fruit really dominates.
This is Rosé, but it is a different Rosé. We suggest you try some.
