Here’s a good red for Italian food, one that will stand up to red sauce nicely and pare with your next pizza or pasta.

Tasting Notes: Medium dark purplish ruby in color, this wine has a nose of black cherry, with spice, shoe polish and some floral notes. It is medium bodied, a little lean in the mouth, with brisk acid and medium tannins. This will go well with food, and is right at home on the dining table next to red sauce and spicy dishes. Maybe not what you’d want to sip by the fire, but definitely a good friend of your favorite pizza.
Price Point – $12
Would We Buy It? – Yes, it’s a good value at the price point.
So while this is not a top shelf wine, it is also only $12 and a good match for a wide variety of foods. It’s worth a look.
