Boston Wine Expo Feb 18-19. Here are the Chefs!

The Boston Wine Expo is next weekend, February 18 and 19, and will be bringing wine and food galore.  As usual, there is a great seminar lineupBoston Logo.  The celebrity chefs will also be cooking furiously, and here is the latest press release on that.  If you’ve got some free time you might check this out.  Held at the Boston Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center, this is easy to get into and get back out of.  There are also a number of good restaurants in the vicinity if you want to make a night out of it.

The Boston Wine Expo’s Celebrity Chef Lineup

Top chefs to demonstrate culinary expertise throughout President’s Day weekend

 

BOSTON, MA (February 8, 2017) – The 26th annual Boston Wine Expo at the Seaport Hotel & World Trade Center is announcing this year’s lineup of celebrity chef demonstrations that will take place over President’s Day weekend, February 18 & 19. With the stages emceed by top media personalities like Billy Costa, attendees will have the opportunity to mentally sharpen their kitchen skills while watching some of Boston’s best culinary talents exhibit their craft throughout the weekend.

 

Star chefs like Andy Husbands and David Becker will whip up their signature creations on dueling demonstration stages as they entertain, share expert cooking tips and dish out samples of the finished product to pair perfectly with the event’s more than 2,000 selections from the vine.

 

The chef showcases will take place in the Grand Tasting area and are included with Grand Tasting or Vintner’s Reserve Lounge tickets. Seating is available on a first come, first serve basis.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18

STAGE ONE:

Emcee: Billy Costa, co-host of KISS 108’s “Matty in the Morning” and NESN’s “Dining Playbook”

Demonstrations:

  • 1:45pm: David Becker, chef-owner of Sweet Basil (Needham) & Juniper (Wellesley)
  • 2:30pm: Justin Winters, chef de cuisine of Cinquecento (Boston) & La Motta’s (Boston)
  • 3:15pm: Michael Morway, executive chef of The Tavern at Quarry Hills (Quincy) and Crossing 9’s Patio & Bar (Quincy)

 

STAGE TWO:

Emcee: Annie Copps, founder of Intellibelly

Demonstrations:

  • 1:45pm: Eric Tranfaglia, executive chef of The Palm (Boston)
  • 2:30pm: Kelly Armetta, executive chef of Avenue One (Boston)
  • 3:15pm: Johnny Sheehan, executive chef of Liquid Art House (Boston)

 

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 19

STAGE ONE:

Emcee: Erika Tarantal, principal anchor of WCVB and reporter for “Chronicle” 

Demonstrations:

  • 1:45pm: Preston Miller & Bing Liu, executive chef and principle sushi chef of RUKA (Boston)
  • 2:30pm: Andy Husbands, chef-owner of The Smoke Shop (Cambridge)
  • 3:15pm: Ben Steigers, executive chef of PABU (Boston)

 

STAGE TWO:

Emcee: Annie Copps, founder of Intellibelly

Demonstrations:

  • 1:45pm: Brian Miller, executive chef of Hops N Scotch (Brookline)
  • 2:30pm: Steve Brady, executive chef of The Merchant (Boston)
  • 3:15pm: Nicolas Swogger, executive chef of B3 (Boston)
