Ahh, great wine at low prices. The Holy Grail for wine value hunters. This is, when found, a truly wonderful thing. Here’s one example which you can look for, and you will thank us if you find it. For $12, it doesn’t get much better than this.
Wine: 2016 Saveurs du Temps Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting Notes: This is a find. An IGP level wine from the south of France, and 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, it is dark red, and a bit tight right at opening. Give it a little time though, and this opens to rich currant and black cherry. There is spice as well. It is full bodied (just), with texture, beautiful balance and a long finish. Smooth, complex and quite wonderful for the money.
Price Point – $12
Would We Buy It? – Yes – by the case. This is a great value wine.
If you find the 2016 Saveurs du Temps we suggest you buy some. This is truly great juice for the price.
