Wines for Spring Volume 2: Still Thinking Pink(ish)

We’re solidly into Spring and it will soon be Summer, and it’s time for refreshing wines and outdoor gatherings.  Previously we reviewed two excellent Rosés, which you can read about here, that are perfect for this time of year.  In this article we look at two sparklers which work great as well.  One is pink and the other red, but they both fit that refreshing Summer vibe.

Acquesi BrachettoWine: NV Acquesi Brachetto

Wine Source:   Piedmont, Italy

Tasted By:     Neil & Cheri                     Date:   March 2022

Tasting Notes:  The color is a rich ruby red, so this is not technically pink, but it is fizzy and fun and not white.  On the nose it presents fresh red fruit.  It’s refreshing on the palate and simply delicious, as in far too easy to drink delicious.  I think it’s excellent and it is recommended.  This is a top notch Brachetto.

Price Point –    $17.99 SRP and a good value.

Would We Buy It? –   Yes we would.  We like Brachetto, and this is a superior example.  Recommended.

And the second wine:

Mosketto Frissante RosatoWine:  NV Mosketto Frizzante Rosato

Wine Source:  Italy

Tasted By:  Neil & Cheri                        Date:   March 2022

Tasting Notes: This is a light pink in color.  The alcohol is low here, at 5%, and this is a fresh and delicious summer sipper.  You get grapefruit, apple and tangerine. There’s a little bubble gum too, but it’s a nice addition.  Perfect picnic wine, slightly fizzy, slightly sweet and a lot of fun.

Price Point –    SRP $12, and a great option at that price.

Would We Buy It? –    Absolutely.  This is a fun, light and refreshing fizzer.  Highly recommended.

So there are two more summertime options if you are so inclined.  These are fun, fizzy and definitely pink (or red – which is sort of dark pink).

A votre santé!
